Due to the government’s lack of funding, the orphanage is currently running in the red approximately $3000 per month. Sunrise desperately needs financial support to help bridge the gap between current funding levels and the base operating costs of the home.
Your support will be used directly to maintain and improve the basic needs of the orphanage. Although the kindness of giving supplies is appreciated, we encourage financial support to allow the direction of giving towards the areas of greatest need! 100% of all financial donations go directly to the orphanage as the board of directors and the non-profit is run and supported completely through volunteer efforts. The current areas of greatest need include: food, clothing, bedding, education and educational supplies, and transportation.
The orphanage is also in need of Christian missionaries to support its goal of providing a strong christian foundation for the children. Pastor de Felipe is looking for missionaries to work in the orphanage as guides, counselors, mentors, and surrogate parents to help raise the children of sunrise. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus, but financial independence is required.
